How the Mac changed and then saved my life

I was still in elementary school when I first used a Mac Plus. A friend of the family was a Mac user and let us try his. We were hooked immediately. My parents went out and bought the family a Mac SE. I monopolized it. HyperCard was my favorite application. Much later in life after I had graduated college, lost, and half-heartedly trying to recover from drug addiction my parents took an enormous chance and gave me a Power Mac G4 as a gift. It was the focus I needed again but this time the web and the dev tools became my favorite application. A year later Mac OS X came along and I was able to find a job working for a company doing Mac stuff all day long and I haven't looked back since. At an early age Steve's vision of technology changed my life and at a later age Steve's vision of technology played a fundamental role in saving my life. For that I am ever grateful because I am here now living my life, not someone else's, doing interesting and creative things with technology for humans every day. I still have both of those Macs.

Thank you Steve.
